Please Note: selection for the 2019 Fremont 4th of July Parade national Anthem will be announced when it occurs.

We begin our search almost immediately after each parade by reaching out to the community. We are looking for someone from the Fremont, Newark and Union City but are open to surrounding communities as well. Send us your videos!

2019 Parade Grand Marshal - Robert Turbin

Robert James Turbin (born December 2, 1989) is an American football running back for the NFL Indianapolis Colts, drafted in the fourth round in 2012 NFL Draft and played college football for the Utah State Aggies.

He played football at Irvington High School here in Fremont and we are so proud to show our support of this great, community minded Fremontian!

Selected From our community

The Fremont 4th of July Committee selects annually three outstanding individuals or couples to judge entries in the parade for:

  • Overall Appeal - Overall presentation of the entry. For Marching Bands:

    • Marchers uniformed in appearance and performance

    • Overall musical sound, choice of music, marching ability

  • Creativity / Uniqueness - Creativeness and originality in presentation or performance. Uniqueness of entry

  • Parade Themes - Best adaptation of the Parade Theme

  • Patriotic - Showing patriotism in the entry

  • People's Choice - Crowd response

Judging is subjective and the intent to create great community engagement.
