Judge - Dirk Lorenz

dirk-bioDirk Lorenz is the owner of Fremont Flowers located in the historic Cloverdale Creamery building as well as the Depot Diner located in the Historic Centerville train station. The fact that his businesses are located in historic buildings is no accident. Dirk has a passion for local history. He is a 4th generation Fremont resident… and his family operated their farming business from the old packing shed that was located where the Depot now sits. He also never fails to mention the number of milkshakes he consumed at his first job as a teen at the Cloverdale creamery while working next door at the car wash. (let’s just say over 100)

Dirk and Lisa were married at the Centerville Presbyterian Church in 2001. They celebrated their wedding by holding their reception in the historic Pioneer Cemetary behind the Taco Bell on Fremont Blvd. I mention this because the Little White Church is yet another historic passion of both Dirk and Lisa. Efforts continue to restore the church steeple that is stored in a back lot in Centerville.

Dirk has been a florist for 27 years. He is in the Top 100 FTD florists in North America, having been their “marketer of the year” in 2005. He also works for ACE…the Altamont Commuter Express… advocating the use of the ACE train to employers in the Tri-City area. In his spare time, he is Chair of the City of Fremont Planning Commission, associate member of the Fremont Education Foundation as well as a trustee of the Washington Hospital Foundation. He is Chairman of the Fremont Festival of the Arts, the largest 2 day outdoor festival west of the Mississippi. He serves as President of the Center Theater Preservation Group, owner of the Depot Diner and operated his florist out of the Cloverdale Creamery for 5 years.
