Liz Elliott
Liz Elliott, owner of Happy Fish Swim School, and Vice President of the Irvington Business Association, will round out our judging panel this year. Liz grew up in the Irvington area of Fremont and Union City, swam competitively through college, and has taught and coached swimming in Fremont for summer league and year round teams. Liz is passionate about education, and making the Fremont community a great place to live and work. She taught 7th grade English and history in Union City for 5 years, 10th grade English, and ninth grade PE at Irvington High School. Outside the classroom, Liz continues to give back to education. In 2010, Liz was honored by the Fremont Education Foundation for her role in the annual Happy Fish Run 4 Education that has raised over $80,000 for FEF's Guy Emanuele Sports Fund, and her role as a community leader. She is the chair of the IBA annual Monument Festival event, works closely with the Mission San Jose Chamber of Commerce, contributes to many other local volunteer and community based organizations, and enjoys helping to educate the next generation of local community leaders through her volunteerism.
