Cindy Bonior
In April 2000, Cindy Bonior joined the Fremont Chamber of Commerce as president and chief executive officer. In this role she is responsible for developing promotional opportunities for Chamber members and seeking activities to enhance the community business environment. In addition to her role as president/CEO, Cindy is the Director of the Fremont Festival of the Arts, the largest outdoor festival west of the Mississippi. Under her leadership, the Festival of the Arts has enjoyed unprecedented financial success and has added the acclaimed Business Alley and Wine Garden, hosted the World renowned Firefighter Combat Challenge, and developed the YMCA Kid City.
Prior to joining the Chamber, Cindy was the executive vice-president of the California Association of Flower Growers and Shippers. While there she was responsible for day to day operations of the organization and developing marketing and promotional opportunities for the members as well as creating many award winning programs.
Cindy is a graduate of San Jose State University with a degree in marketing and a minor in public relations.
She is a member of Western Association of Chamber Executives (WACE) and American Society of Association Executives. She is chair of the board of managers of the YMCA Fremont-Newark, a director on the East Bay YMCA board of directors, a commissioner with the City of Fremont Economic Development Advisory Commission, board member of the Ohlone College Foundation, Fremont Education Foundation, and the Palo Alto Medical Foundation Community Advisory Council. She is also a member of the Professional Business Women’s Association and was awarded Outstanding Business Woman in 2009 by the American Business Women’s Association.
