About The Parade - 2010

In 1999, the City of Fremont began hosting an annual 4th of July Parade in each of the original five historic township areas that came together in 1956 to form the ‘City of Fremont’. In 2003, budget cutbacks forced the City to step aside in the funding and organization of these annual parades; but the citizens and greater Fremont area volunteers came together to keep the tradition going. The parade now rotates between six of the famous districts of Fremont.

We invite you to mark your calendars now to join the hosting District for 2010 – the Mission San Jose District, to bring the entire area and neighboring cities together for a special fun, FREE, and family friendly event for the entire community down Mission Boulevard on Sunday, July 4th 2010 at 10:00 a.m.

The Parade features marching bands, floats, equestrian units, balloons, and unique hometown entries; as well as, some surprise and out-of-town entries.

The Fremont 4th of July Parade Committee is a non-profit organization who plans the parade each year with over 150 volunteers.  We rely on financial donations from individuals, businesses and community groups to put on this volunteer run major event each year that attracts tens of thousands of spectators along beautiful tree lined streets.

Sponsorships and contributions are currently being sought. Any remaining funds are carried over from one year to the next (or one District to the next), as the parade rotates around our town to a new site each year. Any contributions are now tax deductible as allowed by law (tax ID is 26-2202719)
